Cats of Cyprus TNR

Support humane population management for animal welfare and urban ecology

Cats of Cyprus TNR supports trap-neuter-return (TNR) and practical colony care to help reduce suffering, improve the lives of free-roaming cats, and support healthier coexistence between animals, people and local wildlife.

Your donation helps fund real, on-the-ground action: neutering, veterinary treatment, recovery care, food for managed colonies, and the ongoing work needed to reduce uncontrolled breeding in a humane and effective way.

Why this matters

Cyprus has a large population of free-roaming cats. Without consistent neutering and colony management, numbers can increase rapidly, leading to repeated litters, illness, injury, hunger, kitten mortality, and growing pressure on rescuers and local communities.

TNR is one of the most humane and effective ways to manage cat populations over time. It helps to:

  • prevent repeated breeding

  • reduce suffering in street colonies

  • improve long-term welfare outcomes

  • stabilise populations in a practical and compassionate way

This work also has an ecological dimension. Responsible population management can help reduce the pressure that unmanaged colonies may place on local wildlife, while supporting a more balanced approach to urban ecology and animal welfare.

What your donation supports

Your contribution helps us fund:

  • Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for free-roaming cats

  • Veterinary treatment for injured or unwell cats

  • Food for managed colonies

  • Recovery and aftercare following neutering

  • Transport and practical rescue costs

  • Support for local population management efforts

  • Welfare-led colony monitoring and care

Every donation, large or small, helps.

Suggested donation impact

  • £10 / €10 helps provide food for colony cats

  • £25 / €25 helps cover basic care and supplies

  • £50 / €50 helps contribute towards one neutering procedure

  • £100 / €100 helps support TNR and follow-up care for multiple cats

You can also choose your own amount.

Why support Cats of Cyprus TNR

We believe that humane cat population management is not only an animal welfare issue, but part of a wider vision for healthier, more responsible communities.

Our aim is to support:

  • kinder outcomes for free-roaming cats

  • fewer unwanted litters and less preventable suffering

  • practical, long-term colony management

  • greater awareness of the link between animal welfare and ecology

This is about doing something real, compassionate and effective.

A note on ecology

At Bee.Wise.Eco, we care deeply about the relationship between the built environment, biodiversity and the animals that live alongside us. Supporting TNR is one practical way to contribute to more balanced urban ecosystems.

Humane population control helps reduce unmanaged colony growth and supports a more thoughtful relationship between people, domestic animals and wildlife.

Supporting cats, wildlife and coexistence in Cyprus

All donations made through this page go directly to support Cats of Cyprus TNR. Our priority focus is on urban areas of Larnaca, including areas around the Salt Lake, where free-roaming cat population management intersects with both animal welfare and ecological sensitivity.

These locations are important not only because of the number of cats in need, but also because they sit alongside valuable habitats used by migratory birds and other wildlife. Through humane and responsible TNR, we aim to reduce suffering, prevent uncontrolled breeding, and support a healthier balance between community cats, people and nature.
